on that dark night I saw a being

that would give such a fright

I now tell tales of what lies in the darkness

But what becomes of a beast

That feasts in the night?

is it right? To judge so harshly

on a being that is trying to survive

whether the stories of the flesh eating

or the cannibalism is true?

but what I know is to be true

he used to be once like you and me

he’s the dark knight

he’s the dark knight

he became the monster

from his worst fears

a nightmare trapped in a sleepless haze

he now lingers where the animals graze

he’s the dark knight

you’re sure in for a fright

when you come across

the dark knight

he’s the former soldier
