she takes a bite 

when he turns off the light

he knows something doesn’t feel right

he knows something doesn’t feel quite right

but somehow he remembers

of how she hurt him so much

simply just out of spite

oh, it gave her such a fright

of how he took away her light

she couldn’t find any other way

to get out of his sight

she could have died

if she had stayed there

with no one to know her name

or her story

with no one to save her

from the grabbing hands of vampires

or the whispering voices and 

the flashing camera lights of the future

she dreamed of palm trees

and an easy future

it all seems so hard to achieve

when everyone is pulling at her sleeve

she always dreamt that someone would save her

from out of nowhere

that there would be a saviour

a knight in shining armour

perhaps on a white horse/ horseback

like one of those princesses

locked away

in a tower, a kitchen

or a cellar

in the fairy tales

but even after it all

whatever life throughs at you

whoever might leave you

that you’ll soon realise

that the white knight is you
